Nags Head Golf Links

Nags Head Golf Links Get ready for a fun and rewarding challenge! Nags Head Golf Links is a true Scottish links-style championship course set amidst the natural barrier island landscape of Nags Head. Tees and greens are separated by rolling dunes and wild seagrass. Views of the Roanoke Sound, marsh and wildlife are abundant.

Designed by Bob Moore, the 18-hole, par 71 soundside course is affected by coastal winds, so that every game on the course is a new game. Golf Digest awarded Nags Head Golf Links 4.5 stars, and the course has been ranked in the top 50 courses in Golfweek.

A driving range and practice green, a well-stocked golf shop, the soundside Players Grill, a Sunday afternoon 9-Hole Scramble (June-August) and golf lessons and clinics with PGA professionals are some of the other amenities available at Nags Head Golf Links. For more information, call (252) 441-8073.

Ocean and Sound Access

The Village at Nags Head offers access points to the beautiful Atlantic Ocean beaches and the quiet and peaceful Roanoke Sound. The Village Beach Club access offers beachgoers plentiful parking as well as all the amenities of the club. The private Village Beach Access and Bathhouse offers parking (pass required), handicapped access, restrooms, changing facilities and showers. Town of Nags Head lifeguards are posted on these beaches. A series of community walkways/boardwalks in the oceanside neighborhoods make getting to the beach easy.

The beaches of Nags Head are wide with soft tan sand and very inviting to swimmers on all but the windiest of days. When it is unsafe to swim in the Atlantic Ocean due to rip currents, the Town of Nags Head hangs red flags warning swimmers to stay out of the ocean.

On the soundside, The Village at Nags Head offers two parks with piers, both perfect for crabbing, kayak or small sailboat launching, and watching the sunset. The land along the northerly soundside pier is bulkheaded, but there is access to the water via stairs.

The southerly soundside pier offers a great sandy beach area. The calm soundside waters are ideal for small children, pets and watersports enthusiasts or cautious swimmers. This access also has a rustic boat ramp where you can launch kayaks, small sailboats, Jet Skis or kiteboarding or windsurfing equipment.

Both soundside parks offer benches, picnic tables and parking, and the southern park has room for trailers.

Shuttle Service and Getting Around

The Village at Nags Head’s quiet streets and 25 mph speed limits are very hospitable for walking, running and biking — even with children and pets. Plus, the Town of Nags Head’s paved multi-use path runs through the oceanside of the Village, offering the perfect place to exercise.

The Village Shuttle Service offers a complimentary ride between The Village at Nags Head communities and the ocean beach accesses and soundside parks and piers during the summer months. You’ll enjoy meeting our driver Thomas Biggs, who operates the shuttle all summer and donates all of his tips to Lou Gehrig’s disease research.

Two first-come, first-served tennis courts are located at The Village Beach Club on S. Seachase Drive. The Sea Pointe community offers a tennis court for its guests. Please bring your racquets and tennis balls.
